Zgharta is located 10 km south of Tripoli, resting on the hills of the northwest area of Lebanon, with a 150 to 250 metre elevation from sea level. It lies between the rivers of Joueit and Rashein and is 80 km away from Beirut.
The following coastal routes lead to Zgharta: Beirut-Tripoli-Zgharta,or Beirut-Shekka-Kfarhazir-Beshinnin-Bisibeil-Zgharta.

The directorial region of Zgharta is 14 square km (Land bought by Zghartians outside the directorial region is many times larger than the size of Zgharta’s directorial region). Zgharta is bounded to the north by Mejdlaya and Fawar, to the west by Al-Shwalit and Talat al-Khazen, to the east by Rashein, Bayader Rashein and Kafardlakos, and to the south by Kafarhatta.

Zgharta is a coastal city whose Mediterranean climate matches that of other coastal Lebanese cities and towns. Hot and humid during summer and moderate during winter with temperature averaging 13 degrees in winter and 27 in summer.
